Hi friends :)
Super happy to say that coming next with their second appearance on quiet details, after the incredible collaborative album qd15 Slow Reels (with the legend Ian Hawgood), is the wonderful James Murray.
Out Wednesday 11th September, digital and CD editions. As always the physical edition comes with the unique long-form version of the album and bespoke six panel digi-pack, with separate artwork and glass-mastered CD. Listening party Thursday 12th Sept at 19:00 UK time.
Composer, producer and curator - James is one of those people in the modern music world that really can do it all. A deep discography on some of our favourite labels (Home Normal, Ultimae, Eilean Rec, Morr Music, Fluid Audio and more) and his own Slowcraft, shows an artist of vast talent and forward-thinking musicality.
qd23 Weeds finds James in highly creative and conceptual mood - each track a “loose study of various structural, cultural or biochemical aspects of each plant's nature and reputation. As a collection Weeds celebrates the understated, overlooked, so-called inconvenient or arbitrarily maligned.”
Using his huge experience and technical skill, he’s crafted a stunningly beautiful world of sonic colours and imagination - it’s a gorgeous album I’m so looking forward to sharing with you x
For now check out all of James’ previous work, including:
His beautiful last album, and sister to Weeds, Soundflowers
His last album on the incredible Home Normal, Careful Now
And of course qd15 Slowreels - only a few second run CDs left x

Also coming is the second run of the ultra-deep qd17 øjeRum - En Sten For Solen.
Next level stuff here from a master of textural minimalism.

Last week Glacis gave a lovely mention of qd22 on his Substack - if you’re in London in September he’s involved with a series of events called Echolocation, performances followed by conversations with the artists - highly recommended - check out here - Kate Carr and Lea Bertucci.
